Precious Metal Clay (PMC)

Fingerprint Jewellery became very popular in the early part of the ‘Noughties’. Fingerprint jewellery came about with the introduction of precious metal clay ‘PMC’, a product developed by Mitsubishi. PMC is tiny particles of silver, bound in an organic compound. The clay is soft enough to press your finger into and leave your fingerprint impression. When the clay has hardened, it is fired and polished creating your beautiful piece of fingerprint jewellery, which is very subtle in look and touch.

Upon formation of our company we started offering fingerprint jewellery, but we soon realised that there were a number of other businesses offering fingerprint jewellery, therefore we decided to only offer silver fingerprints locally to ensure the best possible chance of achieving the most detailed fingerprints, and turn our attention to developing the hand, foot and paw print jewellery. The reason for this was at the time new techniques arrived on the market enabling us to capture prints other than silver fingerprints, which we chose to specialise in and offer to our customers.

Handprint, Footprint and Paw Print Jewellery

The hand, foot and paw prints are individual to each but have to be miniaturised in order to fit on the charm. To acquire the prints you need to use a special non-toxic, mess-free wipe and paper, which in turn are returned to us to create your handprints in silver, footprints in silver and your four-legged friend’s paw prints in silver. A stamp is made of the hand, foot or paw print, which is them pressed into the soft clay. As with the silver fingerprint jewellery, the clay hardens and is then fired and polished to create your unique charm.

Mini Masterpieces

In addition to fingerprint jewellery, hand and footprint jewellery and paw print jewellery we are able to re-create drawings and pictures that your children bring home from school. All you need to do is email or post us your precious drawing and we can make your keepsake charm unique to you. The drawings work best when using a pencil or felt pen medium. If colourful drawings are being used, please bear in mind that they may have a different look as the finished product is monochrome.
